If there have been circumstances that have made it hard for you to study in Year 12, you should consider putting in a special consideration application via VTAC’s Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS).
Completion or part completion of an Australian higher education qualification or equivalent.
Completion of an Australian Certificate IV level or above, or VCE VM.
Applicants are assessed on the basis of work experience relevant to the program; determined by type and level of employment, details of employer and length of employment. References and/or a statement from the employer substantiating the work claim are required.
Applicants are also required to submit a short statement articulating how they will use the knowledge, skills, abilities and personal qualities gained through life experience to succeed in their chosen course.
If you have no prior Year 12, VET qualifications, HE studies or relevant work experience that meets the program minimum entry requirements, you may sit the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) and achieve the required minimum score.
Minimum STAT ‘Written English’ score: 125
Minimum overall STAT ‘Multiple Choice’ score: 110 overall (one of the Quantitative or Verbal scores must also be a minimum of 110)
Units 3 and 4 in one of VCE Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics (or General Mathematics for Diploma of Information Technology + Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence students); or equivalent.

FNDE021 and FNDE023 are offered free of charge once only. Any repeat attempts at any of these units will be charged at the current Foundation Program rate.
